What a delightful idea for a quiet little country village where the sun warms the local cricket green and the only sounds are birds singing in the gently rustling lime trees and the occasional polite applause following the successful crack of leather on willow and a distant cry of “six”! Wouldn’t it be nice if Chandlers Ford took this up?

We in Chandlers Ford will be doing our very best. You only just have to walk around the nieghbourhood to see there are some extremley good gardeners who have some well tended gardens.
Chandlers Ford may no longer be a sleepy village as Peter describes, but we do have the lakes and some open green areas for recreation. I’m sure residents will put on a great show for all to see.

Transition Chandlers Ford aims to take this on this year as the theme is Wildflowers. Wildflowers are very important to plant because they are pollinating flowers that bring pollinators such as bees, butterflies and hover flies. It’s important we all plant these wildflowers because there is evidence that these pollinators are dying out -- meaning extreme consequences for the future of our food.
